Angling Philosophy
I believe that fishing for trout should, above all be fun, and not a competitive sport. In this hi-tech world it is easy to lose sight of the fact that it is often the simple things in life which are the most valuable. To me one of those is fishing for trout with good friends in a relaxed environment. I love my country and I love to talk about it. Be assured, a trip with me is much more than a fishing trip. Prepare to hear about our way of life, our unique flora and fauna and the stunning geography which makes it so special. I have wide ranging interests - from fishing and hunting to the arts, wine and literature. If you are into a numbers game and seeking ‘the most’ or ‘the biggest’ then I suggest that you look up another guide.

Trout fishing in New Zealand is full of uncertainties. Our maritime climate means that it can rain in any month of the year. It also blows, sometimes when we would rather that it didn’t. Come prepared for all seasons and you won’t be caught out.
