About Les Hill

Les Hill has been an angling photographer for 25 years. He is a photographer for FISH AND GAME magazine but has had hosts of photographs published in many other magazines both in New Zealand, USA, Europe and Australia. His photographs adorn the pages of six books which he has either authored or co authored – STALKING TROUT, CATCHING TROUT, IMAGES OF SILVER, STALKING STILLWATERS, THE ARTFUL SCIENCE OF TROUT FISHING and STALKING AND CATCHING TROUT.

Les specializes in two styles of image – ANGLING ACTION and ANGLING LANDSCAPES. All photos are taken in the South Island of New Zealand. Because many of his images portray action he uses a very portable 35mm SLR camera. His present camera is a Nikon F80 with 2 Nikon lenses – a 28 – 110mm zoom and a 70 – 300mm zoom.

All original images are 35mm transparencies which are converted to digital format for sale or printed on canvas.
